2008 Scholarship

Submit application by deadline: 4:00 PM Thursday 27 March 2008

The PTSA J. Antonelli Briceno Scholarship in Memory of Sandra Lee Eisenach was established in 2005 to offer financial assistance to Oakton High School seniors wishing to further their education after high school.

Scholarship Criteria

  • Be a graduating senior of Oakton High School, Oakton, Virginia

  • Have a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 based upon a 4.0 scale

  • Demonstrate financial need

  • Plan to attend a two or four-year accredited college or university as a full-time student at the undergraduate level

Application Process

Submit a completed application form, available from the OHS Career Center and Guidance Office or download here (see box), and include the following attachments:

  • An official high school transcript

  • A letter of recommendation from a high school teacher

  • A listing of community/school activities

  • An employment history

  • A copy of the letter and summary page from the Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Selection Committee

A committee from the Parent Teacher Student Association of Oakton High School (OHS PTSA) will select the scholarship recipient and forward the name to The Dayton Foundation (The Dayton Foundation) for approval by the Governing Board of the Foundation.  The committee may elect not to award a scholarship if, in its judgment, a suitable candidate cannot be identified.

Size and frequency of the Scholarship

  • A $1,000 scholarship will be offered annually.

Use of the Scholarship

The scholarship may be used for tuition, room/board and related educational expenses.
